Yoga Teacher Training

Our residential courses in Rishikesh take you from student to confident teacher. You will study Hatha asana and kriya, pranayama and meditation, anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology, with teachers who have practised for decades.

No prior teaching experience is needed. If you can hold a regular practice and you are curious, you are ready to begin.

Introduction

Learn to Teach Where the Practice Began

Our teacher training runs as a 24-day residential course in Rishikesh, the town on the Ganges where this practice has been taught for centuries. It is the internationally recognised foundation level — the qualification you need before you can teach a class of your own.

The course covers far more than postures. You will study alignment and adjustment in Hatha and kriya, functional anatomy, pranayama, meditation, yogic philosophy and the ethics of teaching. From the second week you begin teaching your peers, so by graduation you have already led real classes rather than only read about them.

We keep groups to twelve students. That means your teacher knows your body, your questions get answered properly, and nobody disappears at the back of the room. Most of our students arrive with a home practice and no teaching experience at all — that is exactly who this course is built for.

Course Summary

What You Will Study

Module 01 / 06 Kriya · Bandha · Hatha

Kriya, Asana & Alignment

The largest part of the course. You practise twice a day and study complete kriyas — the posture, the breath and the bandhas that hold them together — broken down piece by piece rather than simply followed.

Hatha asana is taught alongside as the foundation the kriyas sit on, and you learn to read other bodies: where a shape is being compensated for, when to offer a prop, and how to adjust safely and with consent. By the end you understand not only how a practice should look, but what it is moving and who it is not for.

Why Choose Us

Why Train With Us

Rishikesh has hundreds of schools. These are the four things that genuinely set our training apart.

Small Groups

Twelve Students. Never More.

Plenty of schools in Rishikesh run courses of thirty or forty. We cap every batch at twelve, because past that a teacher stops correcting individuals and starts managing a crowd.

It means your alignment gets adjusted by name, your questions get answered properly, and nobody spends a month quietly struggling at the back of the room.

Our Teachers

Taught by People Raised in the Tradition

Our teachers grew up inside this tradition and have between ten and twenty-five years behind them. They are not visiting instructors working through a franchise syllabus.

That shows up in the small things — knowing three ways into a kriya, spotting the compensation before you feel it, and answering a question on philosophy without reaching for a book.

Real Practice

You Leave Having Actually Taught

From the second week you teach your peers, with a senior teacher watching and giving you honest feedback afterwards. Not one demonstration at the end of the month — repeated practice.

Graduates consistently tell us this is the difference between holding a certificate and being able to walk into a studio and lead a class on their first day.

Everything Included

You Only Have to Bring Yourself

Your room, three sattvic meals a day, course manual, materials and every session are covered by one fee. No surprise costs halfway through the month.

Living on campus also means you are not commuting between a hostel and the shala at five in the morning — the practice and the rest sit in the same place.

Accommodation & Food

Where You Live for 24 Days

Your room and your meals are included in the course fee from the day you arrive to the day you leave. Both are looked after for you, so the only thing left to think about is the training itself.

Comfortable twin room with balcony and Himalayan valley view for yoga teacher training students in Rishikesh

01 — Accommodation

Your Room

Every trainee stays on campus, a two-minute walk from the shala, in a room that looks out over the Himalayan foothills or the valley below. Rooms have an attached bathroom with hot and cold running water, fresh linen and towels, and daily housekeeping. They are quiet enough to sleep properly, which matters more than you would expect on a course that starts at half past five in the morning.

Twin-share rooms are included as standard and are how most students prefer to stay — sharing the month with someone on the same journey is part of the experience. Private single rooms and air-conditioned rooms are available for a supplement if you would rather have your own space; just tell us when you book.

02 — Food

Your Meals

Our kitchen is purely sattvic. Three fresh vegetarian meals a day are cooked with seasonal produce from local farms, and there is no meat, no fish and no eggs anywhere on campus. Sattvic food is light and easy to digest, which is exactly what you want when an afternoon practice follows lunch by a couple of hours.

Breakfast follows the morning practice, lunch is the main meal of the day, and dinner is deliberately lighter and served early so you sleep well. Herbal tea is available throughout the day. If you are vegan, gluten-free or have any allergies, tell us before you arrive and our cook will adjust your plate rather than your experience.
